Equinox Capital, Inc. Announces First Closing of Private Equity Fund and Awarding of SBIC License

, CT
– (May 13, 2004) Equinox Capital, Inc., a Connecticut-based manager of private equity, today announced the first closing of Equinox Capital III, L.P., a private investment partnership.  Established in 1998, Equinox specializes in making equity and equity-related investments in lower middle-market businesses.  Equinox primarily targets companies with enterprise values in the range of $10 to $50 million, a history of operating profitability and strong growth prospects.  Equinox seeks investment opportunities where it can partner with existing management teams that are committed to successfully growing their business.


Additionally, Equinox Capital, Inc. announced that Equinox Capital SBIC, L.P. received final approval from the United States Small Business Administration (the “SBA”) to operate as a Small Business Investment Company.  Equinox Capital III, L.P. and the SBA are the sole limited partners of Equinox Capital SBIC, L.P.
